Anatoly Chernyavskiy
Anatoly is a photographer and motorcycle traveller. Born in Tajikistan and now based in western Russia. Since his youth he was fond of motorcycles. After graduating from university, he went on his first motorcycle trip to Lake Baikal. Became interested in photography during a long trip to South America, after returning from where he presented his first photo exhibition. After 10 years of work at nuclear power plant, left work for his favorite hobby of motorcycle travels. For the last 5 years he has been engaged in expeditions in the Far North of Russia.
Routes
His twin loves of motorcycling and exploring have taken him from Murmansk to Vladivostok, from the Caucasus to Kamchatka, spending two years travelling almost all the republics of Russia and the former Soviet Union. He has ridden through remote and inaccessible regions like Chukotka, from the Pacific to the Arctic Ocean, and travelled in South America for 14 months. In winter, he crossed the frozen wastelands of Yakutia on a motorcycle and rode the longest sea ice road in the world.
Creation
He is fascinated and inspired by the wild places of north-eastern Asia, in places without roads, documenting his extraordinary journeys with books and films. His previous works include the lavishly illustrated photobooks «Between Two Oceans», «White Desert», «Kamchatka» and the documentary films «Land of Volcanoes and Bears» and «White Desert».
Anatoly opening more than ten photo exhibitions about his travels. Articles about his adventures are published in magazines all over the world.
